We’re Locals - We’ve Got You!
I'm proud to welcome you to The Local Real Estate Team at Realty Executives. As a new team, it's important for all of our agents and staff to share in the same vision, share the same language, and commit to following and improving the systems that make our team a successful business. This site is meant to be a "Living Site" that flexes and changes to meet the demands of our real estate clients, the marketplace conditions, and the strengths of our agents. It's meant to be a resource and a reminder of why and how we do everything.
Kindness Is Currency
It has been said that 'every deal is an ordeal...'
It's kind of true. There are a lot of things in this business that can stress us out, cause us to be frustrated at other agents, our own clients, vendors, and even our teammates. Our top team value is kindness. Before we care about winning a deal, getting paid, being right about something, or getting to the finish line, we're going to care about people - all of them.
Advocating for your client is never at odds with treating all other parties with kindness. In fact, you'll find that developing a reputation of kindness (especially when challenges arise) will get you further in life and in business (relational equity is more valuable than gold).
Kindness is not soft, unclear, or unprofessional - quite the opposite. People often regret losing their temper, but almost never regret keeping it! Let's win by leading with kindness.
The Phone Only Rings For New Business
It's kind of a backwards way of saying 'let's have great communication'
But, it's also the measurement of this value.
We want to avoid clients, other agents, and others involved in our transactions having to call and ask us for an update. This means that we have to be on top of our transactions and anticipate the pinch points for our clients. Let's pick up the phone and answer our client's questions before they pick up the phone and ask.
Keep in mind: you're not a mind reader and if your client calls you to ask a question, you have not failed. Keep your head. You're a great agent!
You’ve Got What It Takes
... or you wouldn't be here
Real Estate is a well defined process, except for most of the time when it becomes very situational. Paradoxical, right? Yes.
You're going to find yourself in a position of "I'm not sure" or "I don't know" often.
That's ok. You can totally say that, especially if that's the truth.
Flip side of the coin...
It is important to maintain professionalism and project confidence as you navigate uncharted territory. You are the licensed professional, afterall. Make sure your communication instills confidence in you as a professional and all of us as a team of professionals.
Great Agents Are Always Learning
No matter how much experience you gain during your career, the best agents remain humble about what they know and how good they really are.
We strive to maintain a culture of continuous learning, improvement, and implementing new skills and systems that will serve our clients at the highest levels.
As you grow in your career, remember, a great agent is always learning.
Hard Work Wins
If you spend any time at all working in this industry, you'll realize that there are lots of people, personalities, and business selling the silver bullet to success.
Don't be confused; Hard work is the silver bullet.
It doesn't come any other way. You might be able to use others, cheat, or spend your way to 'success,' but remember... Whatever you gain by taking shortcuts you also have to keep by taking shortcuts. It's hollow. It doesn't last.
Things built by hard work last! It's the difference between Ikea and Amish-made (idk, you come up with a better metaphor).
Teamwork Wins
Ok, maybe hard work isn't the silver bullet after all. We all know some people who are working harder than they should because they're doing everything themselves.
Hard work without team work isn't really productive.
The rest of the team of agents and staff around you are there to make everyone more productive and satisfying.
But, it takes trust. Be proactive about building trust with the others on the team - we all need to be an extension of one another.
Don't not do real estate alone.
